Man Blames Stabbing On Voices At South Florida Independent Living Facility

Broward County, FL - A 33-year-old man was arrested in Broward County for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a fellow resident multiple times at an independent living facility for mentally ill persons.

Authorities have arrested a 33-year-old man, Jaime Anjellino Allende, for attempted murder in Broward County.

The suspect, who was residing in an independent living facility for mentally ill persons, reportedly stabbed a fellow resident multiple times after hearing voices instructing him to "kill the Cuban."

The victim, the only Cuban resident in the facility at the time, was attacked while sleeping in his room.

Another resident, who witnessed the attack, confirmed the horrific details to the police.

Following the incident, Allende called 911 and turned himself into the authorities.

The victim, who remains unidentified, was rushed to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, where he is not expected to survive his severe injuries.

The Hallandale Police Department is leading the investigation, and the case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the urgent need for better support and security measures for vulnerable populations residing in independent living facilities.
